Where’s This?

A couple of our Kansas City Explorer fans came close to correctly answering our “Where’s This?” question last month.

Bronze BoarAbove: The “Bronze Boar” statue is indeed located on the Country Club Plaza at 310 West 47th Street, Kansas City, MO.

People are encouraged to rub the boar’s nose and make a wish. Then drop coins in the base of the statue.

This bronze statue is one of three replicas of the famous Wild Boar of Florence. The original was carved in marble by the ancient Greeks.

In Kansas City, as in Italy, the coins are given for the benefit of children. Here the money is donated to Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Below: Here is this month’s Where’s This? clue.
